WEEK FOUR: COINS

The Lost Coin

“Or what woman, if she has ten silver coins and loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found the coin which I had lost!’ In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

-- Luke 15:8-10

Questions
Have you ever lost something of value to you? If you found it , how did you feel upon the discovery or it?

What small, daily discovery reminds you of God’s presence and providence? A penny? A bird? A word or phrase?

What has been a cause for such joy that you had to find other to rejoice with you?

Prayer
God of the lost and found, we rejoice that you seek us out, never give up on us and throw a divine party when repent and turn to you. May small things in life like random pennies and discovered dimes give us an assurance that you never leave us alone. Amen.
