Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020-2021 season of the Town Hall South Speaker Series has been postponed for one year. All speakers have been rescheduled for the 2021-2022 season. Subscriptions for the 2021-2022 season may be purchased by visiting www.townhallsouth.org.

Town Hall South is a philanthropic organization dedicated to bringing nationally and internationally acclaimed speakers to the South Hills of Pittsburgh.

The mission of Town Hall South Speaker Series is to provide an enrichment program for the community through quality lectures and to engage the public in reflection and dialogue on the key issues of our day. Additionally, Town Hall South provides outreach to the community through philanthropic gifts to a wide range of local organizations.

In the 51 years since its inception, Town Hall South has hosted over 255 speakers and has distributed more than $620,000 to various non-profit organizations. Each season, the majority of net proceeds goes to local charities primarily serving the South Hills community with a focus on women and children.

Town Hall South is led and managed by an all-volunteer board of approximately 10 – 14 members. Board members work throughout the year, volunteering their time and talents to investigate, secure funding for, and contract each season’s speakers. In addition, this group works together to plan and execute the operations behind the speaker series: logistics, ticket sales, marketing, publishing, customer service, and community outreach.
