HOLY WEEK

Garments of the Priests

“Then bring forward to yourself your brother Aaron, and his sons with him, from among the sons of Israel, to serve as priest to Me—Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons. And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty. You shall speak to all the skillful people whom I have endowed with the spirit of wisdom, that they make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may serve as priest to Me. And these are the garments which they shall make: a breastpiece, an ephod, a robe, a tunic of checkered work, a turban, and a sash. They shall make holy garments for your brother Aaron and his sons, so that he may serve as priest to Me. They shall take the gold, the violet, the purple, the scarlet material, and the fine linen.

-- Exodus 28:1-5

Questions
Do you have or have you ever worn clothing that reflected your role or job?
If so, did people respond to you differently when you wore it?
What outward items reveal your current responsibilities? How are they connected to what you do?
Do you wear special clothing to worship? Why or why not?

Prayer
We are those who are first and foremost clothed in Christ. No matter our other uniforms, nothing is more beautiful than being wrapped in the love of our Lord and showing that love to others. Help us, we pray to make our discipleship undeniability visible to others. Amen.
