April 6

Then he entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling things there; and he said, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer’; but you have made it a den of robbers.”

– Luke 19:45-46

God’s house can be used for wrong intentions. Our own House of Prayer has faced challenging times recently which is an unfortunate example of what can happen sometimes.

It reminds me that we must be on guard in our own lives so that we don’t become victims of these potential robbers. There are other examples in the Bible where God has as stepped in to resolve some things that had gotten out of hand. Here He did this through his Son and then had it detailed in the Bible so we don’t forget.

It made me realize how lucky I have been in my life to have God’s help to manage or avoid bad decisions in my business and personal life. And actually, we all have had His benefit if we would just realize it. We must each thank Him for it. God has set standards for us to live by. If we don’t, he will do what must be done to maintain those standards. Let us pray he doesn’t have to.

PRAYER:

Thank you God for your Son and Your Word. May You continue to be the guardian and guide in choices I make today and for tomorrow. Amen.
