One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what are these for so many people?” Jesus said, “Have the people recline to eat.” Now there was plenty of grass in the place. So the men reclined, about five thousand in number. Jesus then took the loaves, and after giving thanks He distributed them to those who were reclining; likewise also of the fish, as much as they wanted. And when they had eaten their fill, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the leftover pieces so that nothing will be lost.”

-- John 6: 1-14

Reflection
If I work with God I should think big. That’s faith. I shouldn’t insult God by thinking small. I should only do that if I insist on going it alone.

-- John Hayes

Questions
What are my doubts about God’s role in my life and work? Do I doubt God’s ability and willingness to have my back if I risk aiming high for Him? Have I kept God at arm’s length fearing to trust Him to magnify what I accomplish?

Prayer
Lord, help me to be generous with my blessings and abilities, though I doubt myself, and even you. And let your confidence flow through me, to fill my heart and strengthen my spine so I can see your vision and will as also mine. Amen.
