Fear can bring out the worst in people, and rob us of joy, but people of faith can say with Isaiah, “Surely it is God who saves me; I will trust and not be afraid.”
How do we as Christians have political conversations around topics like guns, or refugees, or the homeless while still being faithful to Christ? We’ll examine what looking to the second coming says about guns in particular in this sermon.
Does Christian faith make any difference in the way we live in this world? If not, then what are we doing in church? If so, then God may do great things in and through us.
We don’t need to be afraid, because God will bring about the redemption of the world, and of our own souls. In the meantime, we are to reflect God’s love in this world.
