Let Your God Love You
by Edwina Gateley

Silent.
Be still. Alone.
Empty Before your God.
Say nothing.
Ask nothing.
Be silent. Be still.
Let your God look upon you.
That is all.
God knows. God understands.
God loves you
With an enormous love,
And only wants To look upon you With that love.
Quiet.
Still. Be.
Let your God— Love you.

Edwina Gateley was born in England. In 1979 she spent three months of prayer and discernment in a hermitage in the Sahara Desert, after which she moved to the United States. From 1981 to 1982 she lived for nine months in prayer and solitude in a hermitage in Illinois. In 1983 she spent over a year on the streets of Chicago walking with the homeless and women involved in prostitution. In 1983 Edwina founded Genesis House, a house of hospitality for women involved in prostitution. Numerous individuals, including the Mayor of Chicago, the late Joseph Bernardin, and Bill Clinton, have publicly commended her ministry. She has also been featured on CBS’s "60 Minutes" and "48 Hours."
