Neighbors Don't Let Neighbors Go Hungry

SHIM serves 2,500 individuals monthly through three food pantries in Bethel Park, Whitehall, and Baldwin. Half of pantry recipients are refugee/immigrant families and 35% children. Suburban poverty and food insecurity are real issues addressed every day by SHIM.

Bags will be distributed the Sunday prior at all services with this preferred list of food items.

Preferred Items:
• dried beans and lentils
• cereal and oatmeal
• pasta sauce in jars
• soup (especially low sodium)
• canned proteins (tuna, chicken, salmon, beans)
• beverages (juice, tea, coffee)
• diapers sizes 3-6
• personal care (shampoo, toothbrushes toothpaste, deodorant, feminine items, etc)
