Volunteer Opportunities - Congregational Care
Board of Deacons
Deacons are elected and ordained officers of the church who "minister to those who are in need, to the sick, the friendless, and to any who may be in distress". - Book of Order. The Deacons welcome your support and help with the following:
FLOWER DELIVERY
Each Sunday flowers from the worship services are delivered to shut-ins and others in need of caring.
BLOOD DRIVE
Donate blood at the quarterly blood drives held in Fellowship Hall.
HOSPITALITY
Provide lunches for New Members, serve at Coffee Fellowship once per month, work on IHN fundraising dinner and offer hospitality to staff and members of the church.
JOB CONNECTORS
Group aids and assists unemployed members of the congregation through networking and job postings. Contact Ed Bacheson 412 835-3539 if you are in career transition or if you know of a position to be filled or use the following resources:

NEIGHBOR CARE
Contacts congregation members who have had recent surgery or hospitalization to offer assistance with meals, rides to doctors, etc.
CAREGIVERS
Visit shut-ins and members who are in nursing homes.
INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK (IHN)
Westminster members prepare and serve meals on Sunday and Friday at Bethel Presbyterian Church during one set week in the year. The Deacons organize this hands-on mission project, but many members of Westminster are encouraged to become involved.
