

In Miraj and Sangli, India since 1990, Westminster has been building strong relationships with the people and supporting many educational, medical, orphan assistance and other projects.
Sangli Industrial School (SIS): Founded In 1891 by Presbyterians, this A-rated trade school enrolls more than 300. Westminster recently equipped two new Welder and Electrician training curricula which opened in August, 2011.
Vadaketh Development Centre (VDC) and Vadaketh Rehabilitation Centre (VRC): Providing therapy and humane care for special needs children plus vocational training for adults since 1986, VDC has been a critical resource to parents and a source of adult life skills. Westminster contributed to 2 new buildings which serve 30 children and approximately 15 adults.
Miraj Medical Center: Since 1894, this Christian charity hospital has provided tertiary care for the poor in Sangli and Miraj and surroundings, including kidney transplants, open heart surgery for remarkably inexpensive fees. For example, cataract surgery is provided for $26 USD per eye.
Prabhat Tara Sanstha: This non-governmental Christian organization run by Rev. Timothy Jalam includes the Home of Hope for 40 girls, a home for boys, and Hospice House for women and children dying of HIV/AIDS. This organization also provides health and medicine services, food to women in the Red Light districts, Bible study, preschool and youth education, and adult literacy/skills training.
