Through Pittsburgh Presbytery, our regional governing body, Westminster Presbyterian Church supports the Synod of Blantyre in Malawi, Africa, and 24 local mission agencies.
Malawi
We support Mulanje Mission Hospital and Nursing School, an 80-bed maternity and child care hospital serving a population of 400,000. Mulanje is the principal facility in the region for training nurses and midwives.
We support the Parker Sharpe Health Center at Domasi, a new outpatient center located in a remote rural area at the site of a mission church. It is also an educational center for the children who live here, an area which lacks public education.
Allegheny County Literacy Council
Teaches reading skills to functionally illiterate adults and children in Allegheny County. A program of Christian Literacy Associates.
*Breachmenders
Provides affordable housing, employment training, and community development in the West Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
*Hosanna Industries
Improves the living conditions of low-income families through new home construction, repair, and rehabilitation. Hosanna coordinates volunteers to serve on work sites. Visit www.hosannaindustries.org
Pittsburgh Regional International Student Ministries (PRISM)
A fellowship and discipling ministry for Christian international students and scholars in Pittsburgh, in cooperation with local churches and mission agencies. Visit www.prismpgh.org.

Sojourner House
A faith-based residential treatment program for mother and their children to help break the intergenerational cycle of addiction.
*South Hills Interfaith Ministries (SHIM)
An interfaith community of God's people who together extend God's love to the people of southern Pittsburgh by providing basic necessities for the needy, comforting the distressed, and providing empowering resources.
The Open Door
A youth outreach program in Crafton Heights whose mission is to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ to neighborhood youth through intentional relationships with caring adults in an environment of safety and fun. Contact: Brian Zeisloft, 412-921-6153.
The Pittsburgh Project

Our mission giving to Pittsburgh Presbytery also supports New Church Development and Congregational Redevelopment; Camp Crestfield Capital Improvements; African American Seminarian Scholarships; and Presbytery support to our 163 congregations through training, a resource center, grants, and youth ministry support; and the Presbytery staff who oversee its ministry.
