Westminster Child Development Center has been a part of the Westminster Church and community for the past 27 years. We offer care for children beginning at 3 months to Kindergarten age. Hours of operation are from 7am - 6pm Monday through Friday. A minimum of 15 hours per week is required. Currently, we have 100 families utilizing our services.
The Child Development Center is enrolled in the Keystone Stars Program. Keystone Stars is a voluntary program sponsored by the Department of Child Development and Early Learning. This program is a quality improvement program in which all practitioners are encouraged and supported to improve child outcomes. Each person within the program reflects and models the love of Christ.
Each of our classrooms has begun utilizing the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards in our curriculum and lesson plans. We focus on several developmental and learning areas that include: social/emotional, cognitive, music, language and literacy, gross motor, Bible time, art, math, and Spanish.
An additional program that is offered to all children who are in our toddler, pre-school, and pre-k classes is Stretch-'n-Grow, an internationally renowned program that is designed to promote health and wellness for children. Each class is 30 minutes and there is no extra fee to participate.
Our pre-school and pre-kindergarten programs are comprehensive programs with our teachers all at Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D levels of education. These programs are offered all day and year round.
