Congregational Care

Congregational Care inspires and trains the whole congregation to be a Christian community of care. Your participation is invited and encouraged either as a caregiver or as a care-receiver. Offering care in the name of Christ is a privilege. When we give care we often are a witness to the grace of God in the person being cared for. At times we each need to receive the love and care that is offered through our community of faith. Know that help is available to you through Westminster.

Prayer Groups

Westminster Prayer Group meets on the first and third Tuesdays of ever month in the Pub at Friendship Village from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Prayer lists are distributed the other weeks for people to pray the weeks we don't meet. This prayer group focuses on prayer for our church's ministry, our community, our nation and the world, as well as for those in hospitals, those who've suffered a loss, or are experiencing other concerns in their lives. An ongoing list of prayer receivers contains members and non-members of Westminster. If you would like prayers offered on your behalf or someone you know, call Peg Kinsey at 412-835-6630x211.

Crisis Prayer Chain

Crisis Prayer Chain is called when a serious accident or catastrophic event has happened in the life of the church. Call Peg Kinsey 412-835-6630x211 to activate the chain of prayer.

Caregivers

Caregivers are a mission team of the Deacons who visit shut-ins or persons in medical centers monthly. Anyone who would like to receive a regular visitor or would like a family member visited, please call Peg Kinsey 412-835-6630x211.

Tape Ministry

If you missed a service or are homebound, you may receive an audio cassette of the service by stopping in the office or calling Peg Kinsey at 412-835-6630x211.

A Child is Born

A "Basket of Cheer" is delivered for the newborn and mother. It consists of a brochure which tells of Westminster's Nursery Care Center along with a handmade crib cross for the child and "uplifting, fun gifts" for the new mother. At a later date, several people from the Nursery Committee make a call on the family to tell them about the programs we offer at Westminster for children. Contact us at 412-835-6630 for further information.

Bridge Group - Solos

Solos meet from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm in Room 107 on Saturdays. Approximately 60 players belong to this bridge group who meet weekly. There are also some scheduled activities which happen at places such as South Park Conservatory Center, Upper St. Clair High School for musical presentations, and occasional luncheons and bridge. Elizabeth Davis is the contact person.

Neighbor Care

After hospitalization, assistance is available. When someone returns home from the hospital, a Deacon will call and offer to bring meals, drive the person to a doctor or respond to other needs a family may have. Contact Peg Kinsey at 412-835-6630x211.

Retired Men's Luncheon Group

Retired Men meets at 12 noon in Fellowship Hall on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. This Group meets for lunch and fellowship followed by various programs of interest featuring exciting guest speakers. Phone Jack Welsh at 412-344-7416 or Dean Olson at 724-743-3252 for information.
