Care Calendar
To facilitate the scheduling and coordination of care giving activities at Westminster, we are using a centralized CareCalendar system. CareCalendar is a web based system which helps to organize meals and other help for families during a time of illness or life changing event, such as the birth of a baby or death of a family member.
CareCalendar is an existing, secure web-based system that enables helpers to sign-up on-line to help with open needs. It also provides directions/maps and it will send reminder emails to you prior to your scheduled days. We can use CareCalendar to coordinate many needs including meals, errands, transportation, child care, yard work, visits, etc. CareCalendar is a wonderful vehicle to include the entire congregation in the many care giving tasks that are facilitated by the Deacons throughout the year. It is our hope that you find it as easy to use as rewarding to serve!
Get Started Now!
The directions below should help you get started using CareCalendar.
- Send an email to carecalendar@westminster-church.org - Please indicate who you are and who you would like to help. We will then respond with a Calendar ID and Password for the CareCalendar website.
- Go to http://www.carecalendar.org/. (This should take you the Care Calendar home page.)
- You will see 3 gold blocks on the middle of the page. The third block on the right is the "Logon" block. Enter the Calendar ID and Password you received via email.
- Please do not forward the logon information. If someone would like to help with meals, please put them in contact with carecalendar@westminster-church.org, and we will get them connected to the calendar.
- You should see the Care Calendar that has been set up for a particular person's needs. A need in GREEN means that it has been filled. A need in RED means that no one has signed up yet to help out on this need. Needs in BLUE are for information purposes only.
- To sign up to prepare a dinner for someone, click on "Dinner" on the day that you would like to help, provided that it is still an open need (in RED).
- Scroll down to the "HELPER SIGN-UP" section. Fill in your name, main dish (to help avoid duplicates), association (friend, church, family, etc.), phone number and email. Note that you will receive reminders via email when your scheduled date is approaching. Ignore the Edit Key.
After you've entered all of the information, press the "Sign Up" button at the bottom. You will see a message that your information has been saved. You will also receive a confirmation via email. You are done!
- If you'd like to review the updated calendar, hit the "Show Calendar" button near the top left of the screen.
- To Log Out, just hit the "Log Out" button located at the upper-right corner of the screen.
