Dr. Erica Hacker will speak on visual impairment and impact of low vision on our lives. Erica Hacker, O.D., has worked at Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Service of Pittsburgh for 15 years. She graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry then completed her residency in geriatric and rehabilitative optometry at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh’s low vision program provides service to people who have some usable vision. Their specially trained optometrist performs comprehensive examinations and prescribes optical aids designed to maximize remaining eyesight. An occupational therapist teaches individuals how to use their new optical tools.
